The grapes come from meticulously tended vineyards in Carneros and Atlas Peak, but it's the winemaking methods which give this reserve wine its distinctive style. Techniques such as 100% Malolactic fermentation, new French oak and sur lie aging all contribute to its rich mouthfeel and toasty buttery characteristics.

Our 2006 Reserve Chardonnay is complex and layered like a baked apple pie with Golden delicious apples, orange zest, and vanilla from the French oak. The wine is rich with a smooth acidity. It is a balanced wine with a mineral essence that extends through a long, lingering finish.
Overall, 2006 was an excellent vintage with a healthy crop showing ripe, flavorful fruit and generous clusters. The fruit development was aided by extended hang time before harvest, allowing the grapes to develop complex flavors and aromas.
The Chardonnay grapes were hand harvested at night, when temperatures are cooler. The grapes were gently pressed as whole clusters, and the wine underwent 100% Malolactic fermentation before aging in new French oak. The final blend was crafted after evaluating each lot individually.
This wine pairs well with shrimp Alfredo pasta, and gourmet macaroni and cheese.
